    • I honestly can’t remember how it felt to be to 40. I’m sure it was very exciting and emotional.  I do vaguely remember thinking at one point in my early 40’s that if I made it this far, I might actually make it to 50.  Now that, scared me.  Now that I am 50, my advice to people in their early 40’s is enjoy it, while you can remember it.  Sort of like the 60’s and 70’s. Oh, and don’t be scared of the big 50!  It’s like all our years, exactly what we make of it.

    • Turning 40 was awesome. I remember thinking at thirty six how great it will be when I turn forty. I divorced at thirty-six, my daughter was 16. The year that my husband and I separated I went back to school and was also introduced to life coaching. So I started to finish the degree that I started almost 20 years ago and began the first steps toward my life purpose. It just so happened that I ended up graduating from college the same year my daughter graduated from high school. As my 40th birthday began approaching I realized, wow I have a brand new life and it is all mine, my daughter is in college, I have no husband to cater to and my future is mine to make - and I am young enough to still enjoy it. I just turned 40 this year and I am having the time of my life!

    • I remember being shocked at just how young it really was! And I feel the same way now that I am over 50.

Is it just me or were our parents and grandparents much older than we are at the same age?

I remember my great-grandmother saying (at the age of 78): “I don’t know whose body this is, because in my mind I’m still seventeen!”

All I know is I’m back in school, sending my last child off to college and talking to my husband!  LOL!  It’s pretty quiet without a teenager around, we might actually have to start having conversations.

Forty rocks, Fifty rocks harder!  : D
