Fabulously 40 Figure Fixers!

By Stepania

Bye bye body blunders

What to wear when you have:

Big Tummy???

Avoid:

- short and tight shirts (hug fat)
- sparkly and shiny tops (reveal dimples)

Opt for:

- flowing peasant vintage tops
- low cut or round neck tops, to take attention of the stomach
- accessorize with thin, long scarves

Big Buttocks???

Avoid:

- tight clothing
- low cut pants
- skinny jeans

Opt for:

- wide leg trousers and flared jeans (creates triangle illusion)
- thick belted pants
- fitted tops that compliment your curvaceous buttocks

Big Arms???

- Elastic bands in the sleeves, unless the top is three quarter length (they squeeze your arms)
- Halter tops and sleevless shirt-they emphasize arms

Opt for:

- long sleeve shirts which can be mixed and match with other tops. If you want to wear a vest, or another sleeveless top, mix it with a long, three quarter length, or short non-elastic band sleeve t-shirt, which will spice up your outfit and cover your arms.
- puffy sleeves, these are in style these season, made by many designers and available in many colors.

A Big Bust???

Avoid:

- Extra materials such as turtlenecks and dolman sleeve tops which create a husky look
- Spaghetti strap tops

Opt for:

- Fitted blouses that may reveal the bust line, but cover your arms and stomach
- Bras that fit!
- No more bra’s that are too small for you, this does not flatter your bust line!
- No more bra’s that are too big for you, this empty space does not make your bust look bigger- it just makes you look like your swimming in you shirt.

Short Neck???

Avoid:

- Round necklines such as polo’s and turtlenecks
- Jewelry that hugs tightly around your neck - go for something longer such as a necklace that hits you at or below your bust line. You don’t want to go to low, because that may make you look short.

Opt for:

- Opening up your neck line with v-necks and lower cut tops
- Revealing a bit of your shoulders and chest will elongate your neckline.

Short Torso???

Avoid:

- Crop tops, they are simply unflattering
- Horizontal necklines
- short tops
- puffy, busy sleeves

Opt for:

- V neck tops - they elongate your torso
- Longer tops which flow past your hip line - this creates a longer illusion

Thicker Thighs?

Avoid:

- tight skirts - long and short, as they attract attention to your chubbier areas
- Skirts that hit your mid calf or ankle
- Tight waistlines which will bring out love handles and unnecessary views

Opt for:

- Skirts that hit you at your knee, paired with a pair of plump pumps, give off a elongated slim look
- Flared trousers that are fitted, but no too tight

Small Bust???

Avoid:

- wide scoop neck
- V-necks-realistically this does not accentuate the “bust” look you are going for

Opt for:

- no bra means more options!
- if you are a proud six pack owner, wearing tighter, shoulder baring tops will enhance your appearance.
- halter tops
