To Be Healthy and Fit after 40:

Farewell: Weight-loss bars, shakes, ice cream and sugar free snacks.

Rather Snack On: High-protein foods such as beans, legumes, fruits, vegetables.  Munch on foods that are high in volume but low in calories.  

It's all up to you: We don't need another study to tell us that diets high in fiber, low sodium, and low fat along with regular exercise and positive attitude keep us healthy and fit.

    • I wrote two books one eating disorders when I was in my 20s, one at 25. You can order them from me. I also have two radio shows, and plan to discuss this on the show. It doesn’t always work: For instance, I could not take weight off after age 30, and right around that birthday. This, despite eating many legumes and loving lentils! Stil crave carbohydrates for energy. The standard will not ‘work’ if you have a sugar imbalance ( I get dizzy and tired after eating sweets or high fat, so I avoid it constantly) . It ALSO will not work if you have starved yourself for years, as I did, and messed up your metabolism. I lost over 55 lbs. at age 19.. no fat, no sugar AT ALL. No junk food, no sodas, no snacks. And walked everywhere without a car.  

      I show that the gaining-weight-you-cant-take-off-after-kids may not be factual at all! I have NO kids, and my body began to resemble a woman after pregnancy. Doctors have said it is depression and the terrible peri-menopausal symptoms that are causing the pounds to refuse to come off.

      The other forms of energy are not cutting it. I am still exhuasted and tired after eating veg’s etc.Only lost 10-12 lbs. after age 30, and gained over 50 lbs in 8 months before turning 30 (photo dates show).
