Perrie Meno-Pudge?, a new grown-up cartoon for women at midlife, was the inspiration of Barbara Kimmel and Joanne Fsadni, two long-time, baby-boomers friends who channeled years of shared entrepreneurial and life experience into a midlife career change. Making lemonade out of life's lemons, adding an extra dose of light-heartedness, they created a grown-up cartoon that celebrates the common experience all women share while coping with families and midlife.
One evening out with our families for dinner, Perrie was literally scribbled on a napkin. Our kids were nudging each other and our husbands were talking about fixing something, while we were lamenting about the challenges of midlife. We started creating a character that would embody our simple daily frustrations and triumphs. By dessert we had imagined a supporting cast based on composites of people in our lives and exaggerations of the common experiences we all share.
Perrie's family and friends put the FUN in dysFUNctional. She has a best friend, Leena, with an alphabet soup of issues such as ADHD, PTSD, OCD, a fear of flying and the PTA. Together, Perrie and Leena are 1+1=3. They are all of the things best friends are to each other. Enough said.
