Like the Internet itself, the blogosphere is constantly expanding. How much number of blogs is there? As of July, 2006, 50 million blogs existed. The blogosphere doubles roughly every six months. Also, approximately two new blogs are formed each second, and about .6 million posts are made every day! Due to this enormous amount of competition, one should consider methods for improving one’s blogs to survive the stiff competition:
1. Promote your blog. Drive traffic to your blog by utilizing proven and tested traffic generating techniques which includes link building, search engine optimization, article marketing, PPC advertising, etc. This traffic will not only make your blog more popular but it can also be a great source of income for you.
2. Choose your topic wisely. There are millions of blogs on the internet today. Most of them are discussing the same topic and competing for limited readers. In order to excel in blogging, you can touch on unchartered territories. This will not only make you a pioneer but it will make your blog famous as you don’t have much competition over online users.
3. Consider posting frequencies and lengths. Bloggers have various perceptions about the ideal posting frequency and length. Some argue that it is wiser to post shorter entries more frequently during a week, while others share that longer entries should be created less frequently. The advantages of more comprehensive, profound lengthier articles are that they tend to increase traffic; and create more referrals and links.
Blogs are no longer simple online diaries. They are now considered one of Internet’s hottest items. Learn how to excel in this field by knowing the hot topics and following the 3 simple steps and you’ll surely make a name in the World Wide Web.
