I hope I'm not alone on this, but I personally find older women so much more sexy than the young ones. There's something so much more satisfying in seeing a woman in her late thirties or forties still making jaws drop, even when on screen with a sexy much-younger-something. Let's celebrate 40 being the new 30 by looking at some of the hottest 40-something's in the biz today.
Every single time I see this woman, photos, an episode of Weeds—whatever—I am floored by how stunning and youthful she is. Whether in clothes or baring all, Mary Louise Parker continues to be a real stunner into her forties.
Another woman I'm convinced as secretly discovered the fountain of youth, or maybe has sold her soul to maintain her flawless skin. Whatever her trick is, it's working like magic. Diane Lane also successfully carried her career into adulthood and for some of us will always be remembered as Cherry Valance in the cult classic, The Outsiders.
Halle Berry is one of the luckiest women on earth, capable of donning a potato sack and still take the red carpet by storm with her raw beauty. She is the only African American woman to win an Oscar, which means she's avoided the "Bond Girl" fame trap, and then some. We hope she's just resting up during her hiatus from acting to focus on mom-priorities. Don't leave forever, Halle!

It’s expected that a 20 year old girl looks 20, but it’s incredible when a 3 0or 40 year old woman looks like she’s ten or 20 years younger. Did you see Marisa Tomei in “The Wrestler“? Now that’s a jaw-dropping, hot body.

I have always loved Diane Lane she is a classy lady. Why wasn’t Diane Keaton included here as well she is one of thee best dressed women in hollywood to me I her style of dress.

I think it’s great to celebrate 40 as being young but the big thing that hits me is that people still see a woman in her late 30s or early 40s as an ‘older woman‘. When I started reading this thread I saw the line “I personally find older women so much more sexy than the young ones” and I thought it was going to be about OLDER women not ones in their late 30s early 40s. That definition of an ‘older woman’ still reflects the ancient belief that a woman is “old” at 40. Would a group of “older men” include men in their late 30s/early 40s? I doubt it.
I think all these women look absolutely fabulous and give us the inspiration and desire to look after ourselves the way we deserve!
Just looking through your profile pictures I would also say that there are some similar inspirational women belonging to Fabulously 40 so it just shows that you don’t have to be a celeb to be a STAR!
I agree that all the young ladies above are lovely. But, my heroines are the much older still beautiful and sexy women: Sophia Loren (age 76), Ann Margret (age 69), Raquel Welch (age 65), Barbara Eden (age 76), and Mitzi Gaynor (age 80, yes, you read it right, the big 8-OH!). When you’ve reached that ripe old age, and can still be considered sexy, you’ve really done something to be proud of!

I think that what makes older women beautiful is that they know themselves better than in their youth. We spend less time worrying about how we are perceived by others and therefore can find our own unique view and style in the world.
