A Glove of Their Own
is a story about a couple of rag tag baseball teams who use sticks for bases, share a mitt amongst themselves and have no uniforms. What they did have was a lot of heart, hope and enthusiasm. That and one elderly fan who was there to cheer them on whenever they struck up a game. One day their "#1 fan" comes by with a huge surprise for them-everything they needed to be real teams. With tears in his eyes, he told them that his children were full grown, but he had kept all of their sports gear. He had been their coach. He also told them he did have one caveat before giving them the new found treasure: that they would remember what this gift meant for them and that they would do the same for other kids who needed sporting equipment.
Besides this story, Franklin Mason Press has also added stories at the end by young guest authors: Rebeca Fagan, age 7; Chelsea Consolini, age 8; and Kaitlyn Riggio, age 8-all from New Jersey. There is also a page for young guest illustrators: Joseph Tice, age 9; Sebastian Patin, age 9; Riana Riddick, age 8-all from New Jersey.
There is also the chance for many other children to become guest authors and illustrators.
