Being a single woman is not a death sentence; it's a marital status option on forms (or in real life) for 48.5 million women.

Which is why I decided at the savvy and single age of 43 to flaunt my single status instead of defending, it by creating The Well-Heeled Society Gift Registry.  

Since single women comprise of 1 of the nation's population, 20 of the 18 million homeowners, 1 of Americans that hold college degrees and share the purse strings of 28.2 of businesses owned by women, the view from our stilettos is far from gloomy.

By definition, single is defined as never-married, divorced or widowed.   However, the population of never-married woman between the ages of 25-44 has tripled since 1970*, signaling a direction of self-sufficiency and definitive purchasing power.

The unique feature of the site is the single woman's ability to name her own customized gift registry and shop for gifts from various merchants.  Since most registries are limited to a birthday, bride-to-be or mom-to-be, The Well-Heeled Registry allows the registrant to compile a wish list for Christmas gifts, the launch of her business, or starting over after divorce.  The site then sends virtual invitations to family and friends to browse her selections.
