You can’t clean up the community until you clean up your own back yard.
I truly feel blessed beyond words. Why? I know so many amazing people! What makes them amazing? They have huge hearts and they care deeply about other people and ways that they can serve the world. I call them Servant Leaders. This past weekend I actually had a team of 450 who volunteered their time to support an event that they had attended a few years ago. I gave them this little exercise that I would love to give to you. The exercise was basically, before you come back and “take care of everything and everyone tomorrow, do something to take care of YOU tonight“. I basically was sharing with them, that you can’t give what you don’t have. Many times we want to serve but we are running on empty ourselves! The question is… so are we REALLY serving when we haven’t even served our own physical, spiritual and emotional well being? The answer as we know is No.
Steps to cleaning up your own back yard.
On a scale of 1–10 (10 being outstanding, where are you in each of these areas)
Physically
Emotionally
Spiritually
Career
Finances
Contribution
Then, the second part is: where do I want to be in each of those areas? and what do I need to do to get there. Fabulously40 is a great resource to help move you up in each of those areas.
Check out all the experts and the advice they give to help you “clean out your own back yard” I know I am using them as resources.
Stay True!
