Teen birth

Okay, the chances of teens abstaining from sex are rare according to statistics, so having a good line of communications open with sexually active teens is SO very important. This young ladies story is a perfect example. Why did she hide her pregnancy? She was afraid of being kicked out of her home.

In my opinion, no child should ever be afraid of losing their home for telling how they feel about someone or because of a relationship they have had or because they are with child. Hell, if a child is pregnant, she needs a home and guidance Even MORE. I applaud those parents who are there for those children, both the mama and the boys who step up to be dads, and help the children finish high school so they can go on to college and succeed in life. I know it is not easy, but hell life is not easy.

I agree. I am not saying that i support teen pregnancy, but if it happens (which in present day does occur), it is crucial that parents are there for their kids.

However, i do think that teens only tell their parents these things (they are pregnant, have tried drugs, drink) if they have a good relationship with them. That’s why it is important to create a relationship with your kids as soon as possible so that they trust you and are comfortable with you.

While some religions to do no allow abortions, i know that some teens would violate their religion and go through with an abortion solely because they are afraid to confess to their parents.

SO ladies… be there for your children to matter what!!

I know in my case, my daughter was in her 20’s, but single and scared when she came to me pregnant. She chose to have the baby and be a single mom. It is quite tough for her because he is biracial and she is in a VERY bigoted town (the one I grew up in). I will NEVER forget the day he came into the world. I still think it is the happiest day of my life. I was daddy you see, so I helped weigh him and got to sing him his first lullaby, the one my father had sung to me. Oh geez now I am crying…

The photo of me has a story. It is me attempting to make a snow angel. It took all the energy I had to do so because the snow was so heavy. The next day I could barely move. I had to stay in bed for 2 days as I recall, but I got my snow angel.
