An article in New Jersey's

Fashion Today,assures young women not to fret too much about the way they currently
look in a bathing suit, promising that with age they will embrace their
imperfect bodies.

Data gathered by More magazine and Lands End in a survey of over
1400 women over the age of 40, found that 47 percent of respondents now
feel more confident than ever about wearing their bathing suits.

What this survey omits to point out is that it’s not that women over 40 feel better
wearing their bathing suits, it’s that women over 40 are more comfortable in their
skin and more confident with their thoughts. Thus placing more emphasis on how
they feel rather than what others think.

So I ask you, who was this survey for? The twenty or thirty years olds
who still are years away of getting to this concept, or for women forty
and over who already knew that?

    • 6 of us just got back from Costa Rica. 3 of us (the only women in the group) wore our bikinis happily.

      Our husbands quite frankly have no problem strutting around in their bathing suits, and let’s just say that their love of food, wine and beer was evident in their middle-aged stomachs.

      And, as for us, who between the 3 of us have given birth to 9 children, we were happy no one seemed to be looking at us through reading glasses.

      Developmentally, we are all of the fifty something mindset that says, “WHO THE F…. CARES?”

      We didn’t, our husbands didn’t, and the locals didn’t seem to notice…not that we would have cared.
