In honor of Sisters & Girlfriends Week, I would like to pay a special tribute to one of my girlfriend's whose birthday just happens to be today.
Her name is Natasha. I call her Tasha. We've known each other for over ten years. We actually met in church. We had a thing we used to do called "Sharing of the Peace" where we spent a few minutes exchanging hugs and greetings. Since we sat near each other, we were always hugging. She had two very small children at the time and they were adorable. I loved giving them smooches--although little Ashley wasn't very receptive at first.
Down through the years, no matter what, we've always been there for each other--we even understand when to back away and love each other from a distance. She isn't judgmental but isn't afraid to express her opinion.
She was my sounding board when I started writing my book and was the ear I needed when I was going through my divorce.
I love her children as if they were my own and her mother is like my big sister. Her dad is a gentle giant and her brother Milo is oh so funny and smart! (And a lawyer too! You should hear him in the courtroom!!!)
Tasha is the kind of friend EVERY FRIEND should have and I'm glad we connected.
Peace & Blessings,
