As 2011 winds down, I thought I would reflect on the past year and all that happened.  This year, at least for me, was pretty uneventful which was great!  In 2007, my mom died,in 2008, we moved from the city to the country and Jack was born, and in 2010, my brother got a divorce after being married for over 20-some years.  So we have had some big changes in the last couple years and glad that this was a pretty quiet year.

I was in danger of being laid off a few months ago.  I didn’t receive my lack of work letter but I was told it was coming.  They were and have been handing out those letters at my company quite a bit!

My husband quit smoking earlier this year which was absolutely fabulous!! He has been smoking for many many years so I’m glad he finally quit.

This next year of 2012 will hopefully bring some changes to our household.  We are going to use a real estate agent to sell our house instead of doing the sale by owner route and hopefully we will be moving back to Northern VA.  If we don't sell our house, we might rent it out.

A new job -  I've been at my company for 11 years now and would like a change.  I would like to get out of government contracting all together but that might be a little difficult given where we live.  Still it would be nice to have a more stable job and not having to switch projects and locations all the time.  It gets old after a while.

Possibly a new (used) car .  My 2001 Honda Accord has been very reliable but has racked up some serious miles lately.  Currently my new work location is about 60 miles ONE WAY from where we live so my mileage is way up there.  So I might be buying another car to get around.

Was this a good year or bad year for you?  What plans do you have for 2012?  What do you hope 2012 will bring?

This community is just absolutely wonderful.  You are a group of very supportive ladies and I wish all of you an abundance of good health, wealth, success, love, and happiness for the upcoming New year!

    • I personally will be glad to get on with 2012! This past year has been a year of many losses...A young man around my sons age passed away suddenly in a car accident. I work with his mom, a girl I went to school with. I am so sad about her loss, and we take the tears as they come. Our neighbor, a 50-ish funny, bald, smiling, heck of a nice guy, was found dead by his wife in their upstairs.Apparently a blood clot had taken his too short life. Our driveways were shared and we were so used to seeing him sitting on their back porch every day after work.....and now he is gone...Our big ole orange tabby, who was so loving and would actually tuck his head under your chin, had to be put to sleep after he began having siezures. We brought him home and placed him in the flower bed...we miss you Bert. I work for a girl at my second job and her dad just drove back down to his home in Florida from Pa, and was dead a day later.no warning...I decided to end a romantic “friendship” I had had with a very close friend I had been involved with for 5 years......it was too emotional to try to stay just friends and I decided to let him go to save myself.I miss you Chris. My youngest son had his first relationship only to be dumped with no warning..........its been months and we still discuss her...theres so much more...........I pray that 2012 will shine a light on all of us and let us breathe a sigh of relief!
