There are several ways that you can green your home.  Below is list of things you can do help your home become green.  Now some are things that many of us do or know to do and have been taught from our parents.  Remember when we didn't think it meant anything.  Well, now we know that it does.  I suggest try some your may have not tried before.  You will be surprised the difference a little change makes.

Most of these options are free and others may mean a small investment, however, the return on your investment should make it all worthwhile as long as a sincere effort is put forth.  Don't do this alone either.  Make it a family venture or gather some friends or coworkers to commit to go green at home.  This is something that will keep the momentum and develop a sharing green community.  Nothing is formal, just a bunch of people who care and want to try to make this world a better place.

.Clean with green products
.Do laundry efficiently
.Choose natural personal products
.Purchase bleach-free paper products
.Install a water filter
.Buy a low flow toilet
.Fix leaky faucets
.Remove your shoes please
.Buy the right plants
.Plant a tree
.Stop junk mail (e-mail too)
.Become a vegetarian (ask your doctor)
.Get those CFL bulbs
.Turn down the heat
.Use surge protectors
.Support local businesses
.Eat natural and organic food
.Schedule a green home inspection
.Get an energy audit
.Use reusable bags
.Drive efficiently
.Recycle electronics
.Make your own coffee
.Bring your own drinks
.Educate your family

I urge you to share this with others.  This list will be presented more in-depth and is series of my online workshops for consumers.  There are new products and services being presented and not all are accurate or really "green" so you must be careful.  Look for certified products and services from reputable organizations.  The Better Business Bureau is still a good place to begin.  That is one thing that hasn't changed.

Enjoy making your home green.  It is a fun and rewarding experience.  As a Type A busy professional, I love it.  Trying new things is great; even if it is just one thing a week or month.  The discovery is a so stimulating.
