I just returned from a speaking engagement and book signing. I have to tell you I really didn't want to go. The last event I went to at that particular location had a poor turnout probably because the organizers didn't do much to promote it. I figured it would be pretty much the same today. I didn't expect to sell any books that's for sure.

But because I made a commitment I decided to go. And you know what, I'm glad I did! I was joined by a panel of 7 other authors who discussed their works and even though there wasn't a very large crowd, it was a decent turnout. I actually saw people I knew from when I first moved to the Raleigh-Durham area.

I read anexcerpt from my book and I think that did it. Ladies were laughing and shaking their heads in agreement to what I was saying. After I left the stage and went to my vendor table,a line of women followed me to purchase a copy of the book. They alsobought my hot flash survival kits andanother book I was selling (in which I was a contributing writer). I ran out of everything! It was a great sales day!!!

On the way home I kept thinking about the attitude I had this morning---about not wanting to go---but then I remembered when I got out of the shower I asked God to make it a successful day---and He heard me loud and clear--in spite of me.
