I often listen to the Delilah show in the evenings and I recently recieved this newsletter about relationships that I could not pass up sharing with the ones I love!

“It’s about falling in love, being in love and being inspired by someone special. It’s also about the love between family and friends. It’s about relationships and how they bring us joy, happiness and love. And it’s about how sometimes relationships can bring us sadness.

Relationships do have the ability to sometimes bring us deep sadness and the reason is because it is only within the context of relationships that we grow emotionally and spiritually. It is only within a relationship that we can give and receive unconditional love. It’s only in relationships that we get to discover our best qualities and our most painful character defects. And it is only within relationships that we feel acceptance and tenderness. The deep painful sadness comes when a relationship ends. No matter how it ends.

A heart can break into a million pieces when someone we love leaves us. Or if a person we are close to dies. Or a loved one betrays us. Or moves away. Or stops loving us. It hurts deeply, makes us sad.
But over time, with patience and caring for our hurts and sadness, we do heal and our hearts begin to open again. We keep the gifts a relationship has given us and take the lessons we learned into the next relationship. What is the point of living if it is not to love and be loved?”
