    • Personally I think homemade gifts such as sweets etc.....are much more meaningful.

One year I painted on glass ornaments cute stripes and polka dots in red’s and green’s...then tied a cute skinny satin ribbon on each ball ornament. I made and gave them to my co-workers.  The ornaments were like 50cents a piece...and a small bottle of acrylic paint...and a small paintbrush. I made about 25 ornaments.  They turned out very cute and everyone still talks about their ornament each year.

I’ve given gift certificates to individuals for pedicures or manicures.  They love getting them and they are not expensive.  Plus...it helps that nail tech as well.

Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons...that you receive in the mail...they never expire.  If you have expired ones...keep them they are always good.

I plan on making small loaf cakes for gift giving this year.  Lemon-poppy seed cakes or sour cream pound cakes.  I have a Pampered chef stoneware that has four loaf sections...and in one shot...I have four gifts.

The Dollar store has some great containers for gift giving that are actually quite cute.

I have made my mother in law calendars with each month containing pictures from the past year.  You can get those put together just about anywhere or do your own.  She loves it.

I was given a $5 gift card to Starbucks...and I loved it.  I got my favorite coffee that I usually won’t go by for myself.

Brown paper bags....with red and green raffia as a tie or bow are very cute.

And I am making my own Christmas cards.
Snapfish has a promotion ...you get 20 photo cards for 20cents plus shipping and handling. You can use more than one photo but it will end up costing more. I chose a one photo card...and 20 christmas photo cards with shipping and handling cost me $3.32...delivered to my door.
The Code for that promotion is:  CARD08

That’s all I have for now.  I’ll post more as I remember.

    • Great ideas. I did something similar with silver ornament balls one year. Simple and fun!

    • Well I do have more...I just can’t think of them all right now.

I am making a gum drop topiary for my fireplace mantel...they are a bit more involved but still fun and I have given them as gifts before.
