!pic   Since posting about auras, I feel I must put up a kind of - not warning, but...

If you go to a psychic, a psychic fair or party, or someone you don’t yet know but who was recommended, say, by a friend - remember that not all psychics are equally skilled.

Use your personal intuition about any reading you get from another person. Use your discernment. If it feels right, and you and the psychic strike a chord together, fine. But if you feel the slightest inkling of discomfort or even a physical signal like an upset stomach or headache, that means that this particular psychic is not the one for you.

Different people resonate differently with different psychics.

Don’t be embarrassed if, as the reading begins, you realize it’s not for you, and you need to get up and leave. It’s okay to do that.

If all else checks out and you decide to get your psychic reading, here are some things to be aware of:

If you‘re getting a reading in a crowded place, such as a Psychic Fair, take the reading with a light heart. A crowded venue means there is a lot of energy there, from many people. It’s highly likely that others’ energies could intrude on your reading, making it less accurate.

Before going into a private reading (or any spiritual activity), remember to protect yourself from unwanted energies. I usually say the Lord’s Prayer, but you can put a bubble of White Light around you, or you can even visualize Captain Kirk saying “Shields UP!” I do that sometimes. Anything that has meaning for you will work. The best protection we can all have - whether we‘re getting a reading or just going to the supermarket - is to carry love and compassion in our hearts.

Keep your own self centered during a reading. That means, don’t get into your dramas, don’t let your emotions run away with you (because emotions are notoriously drama-oriented, and therefore inaccurate), and don’t drink or smoke or anything like that. Go into the reading with love in your heart.

To sum up, you‘re always safer and probably more accurate, if you can see your own aura, and get your own psychic information (through intuition, dreams, journaling). But if you go to a psychic for a reading, remember that their words are not written in stone. Edgar Cayce, one of America’s most gifted and documented psychics, said his readings were correct about 80% of the time.
