Maybe this should go in the Questions & Answers section, but I might end up rambling so its probably best to post it as a blog!

Ok, all my life up until getting sober I never believed in any sort of Higher Power.  Now I not only have faith in a Higher Power . . . . I KNOW that there is one, as I have had it proved to me over and over again during my sobriety.  I never cease to be awestruck by how this Higher Power works in my life . . .  it is absolutely miraculous and (sometimes, believe it or not) it leaves me speechless. estatic All I had to do was open my mind a tiny fraction and make an small effort to seek . . . . and then there it was!!  Incredible but true, gives me goosebumps just thinking about it . . . .

This Higher Power, which I´m not giving a name to as I would like people without any faith or belief in God (or whatever you choose to call it) to also get involved in this discussion (or at least read it) and not feel put off by talk of God.  The word God does not offend me today, but it did used to put me off BIG time in the past and I dont want to put anyone off.  I am on a spiritual journey and am most definitely NOT a preacher.  I am not offended by anyones beliefs or lack thereof.  I am just interested in other peoples experiences.  My life has completely changed since seeking and finding my own Higher Power and I will be sharing my experiences with all of you over time, but right now I would like to ask . . . .

Do you have a Higher Power in your life and how has that Higher Power changed your life or worked in your life?

    • I choose to call my higher power God. And when I let him, he can be a source of strength for me.

    • I am a child of GOD! Prior to recieving Christ as my Savior, I lived a life full of “me“. I came from an abused family, had health problems. I was selfish, self centered, moody, critical, judmental, had a bad attitude...behind closed doors that is. I would NEVER allow anyone to see the real me. It seemed I just kept going around that same mountain over and over again. It was exhausting! Until God dealt with me. Now, love, joy, patience, happiness, and peace live in me. I give All glory to GOD!

Rachel, congratulations on your sobriety! heartestatic

    • I do believe in God. There are things that happen in your life where you know in your gut it is supernatural power and that is from God. It is calming and joyful to know God’s presence in your life amidst all the chaos in the world. John 3:16 tells of the love of God.
