I don’t know about you, but at the end of the year, I like to clean out my blogs and delete old posts. At least the ones that don’t seem relevant anymore. I love reflecting on the past year for awhile and then turn my attention to the upcoming year, all shiny and new and full of promise.

My first blog post for 2010 was “Is This the Year to Stop Writing?” How ironic because I published twice this year - first my novel THE TOM JONES CLUB and then a short story as part of the A SHAKER OF MARGARITAS: HOT FLASH MOMMAS anthology. I’m so glad I didn’t stop writing.

I’ve already cleaned out my blog posts here on Fab40 and am already thinking ahead to 2011. I think it’s going to be our year, ladies. I’m starting to see a resurgence of women over 40 stories. While the industry flirted with that a few years back, it never really took off. But I’m seeing signs that may point to a change for next year. I’m thrilled.

My first novel REAL WOMEN WEAR RED about 40-something Cyn hoping to find romance and start her life over on a Caribbean cruise, is my best seller on Kindle. And readers who buy my book also buy some of the top “chick lit” best sellers. So who says chick lit is dead? I think it’s going to make a comeback for women over 40.

Just the fact that the A SHAKER OF MARGARITAS: HOT FLASH MOMMAS anthology was published - 25 short stories about women having fabulous midlife adventures - is a positive sign. And guess what the next anthology is going to be about? Cougars - lol! Whatever you personally think about Cougars, it does make for some fun reading. And I can’t wait to write my Cougar short story.

Also, in the latest Romance Writer Report for Romance Writers of America, there was an article about how it’s finally time for novels starring women over 40.

I’m so excited about all of this and the new year, I want to ask a favor of you. If any of you have a blog or do book reviews, etc, please let me know if you’d like to interview me or review my latest book, THE TOM JONES CLUB, now available on Kindle and other ebook formats, but coming out in PRINT before the end of the year. Woo hoo!

Merry Christmas or whatever holiday your celebrate and have a FABULOUS new Year!
