Today I want to share a quick stress tip to help you tune our the holiday craziness as well as refocus on what is important to you.

Find somewhere quiet and comfortable.

Now, close your eyes, and allow your breathing to slow and deepen for a couple of minutes.

Then make a picture in your mind of a hamster running around inside a metal wheel in its cage.

Just like your racing thoughts, the hamster can’t stop running on the spot.

Watch him for awhile and note how all this frantic running gets him nowhere.

Notice that you can’t even see the rungs of his wheel because he is running so quickly.

Then visualize the wheel slowing to a walking pace.

Slower and slower the hamster walks until the wheel stops turning round...

You can see each rung of the wheel in detail now.

The hamster is still inside his wheel, but he has turned over onto his back, closed his eyes, and is using the wheel as a hammock, rocking gently backwards and forwards,
backwards and forwards.

Each time an outside thought intrudes into your head, bring your attention back to the gentle rocking of the wheel, backwards and forwards.

After a while, the rocking stops and the hamster is asleep...

And you are relaxed and stress-free!

Merry Christmas!!

    • That’s cool. I must admit I tried it just for thirty seconds because I’m the one who can’t sit still for too long.

When I lay down tonight I will definitely use it.

When I visualized the hamster running in circles my head hurt. When I visualized the hamster rocking back and forth
my eyes were shifting left to right and I really felt like I was being rocked to sleep.

      sweet dreams

    • Here are some more ideas.

Today I want to share four tips for dealing with Christmas and holiday-related stress from my friend Debbie Mandel at [Link Removed]

         1. Remember: You are above ground. Don’t drive yourself crazy doing chores and tensions during what is supposed to be a holiday of gratefulness.

         2. Sit with your company and enjoy them. Let everyone feel important and help you out like a team with the food preparations and serving. Doing this will cut our huge amounts of stress!

         3. Do not actualize any negative prophecies you have about your family and guests. Be positive, witty, and generous with compliments and watch almost everyone reciprocate in kind.

         4. Keep it simple. You don’t need to serve so many courses and dazzling dishes to have your guests oohing and aahing about how marvelous you are while you feel deader than the turkey.
