Kate Winslet is far and away one of our favorites.....beautiful, talented, smart and funny-this lady has the whole package! She has been nominated for TWO Golden Globe Awards this for Best Actress (Revolutionary Road) and one for Best Supporting Actress (The Reader). She has definitely embraced her glamourous side lately and this look is particularly noteworthy. Here is the Nicciknows two cents on how to get a similar look:

1) Start with clean, moisturized skin and use a primer to prepare your skin. Try the Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer ($30 at Remember you only need about a dime-sized amount for your whole face and give it about 30 seconds to set before following with foundation. Use a fuller coverage foundation for this look-try Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation ($40 at Follow with concealer where needed...a great one to try is Kevyn Aucoin Beauty Sensual Skin Enhancer ($45 at Neiman Marcus). Next use a translucent loose setting powder like Chanel’s Poudre Cristalline Ultra Fine Transluscent Powder ($60 at Neiman Marcus).

2) Cheeks are soft and bright. Try Make Up For Ever Sculpting Blush in Satin Fresh Pink ($24 at . Apply with a brush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep up and back toward the top of your ears to give yourself a lift!

3)   Eyes are prepared with a eyeshadow primer. Our favorite are the MAC Paints...try MAC Paint in Baselight ($16.50 at MAC Cosmetics). Next take a grey shadow such as Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Grey ($20 at Neiman Marcus) and apply it all over your lower lid, the area closest to your lashline, blending up into your crease with a blending brush. Next take a light bone colored eyeshadow such as MAC Eyeshadow in Vanilla ($14.50 at MAC Cosmetics) and apply is under your brow, creating the highlighted effect. Eyes are lined with a dark navy blue liner....try Smashbox Creme Liner in Picasso ($22 at Sephora) with an angled eye liner brush. Finish eyes with a good coat of black mascara-try Diorshow Mascara in Blackout ($24 at Sephora )

4) Lips are lined with a dusty pink lip liner.....a great one to try is ck Calvin Klein beauty’s Toasted Pink ($15 at Sephora).  Lipstick is a nude pink shade....try MAC Lipstick in Angel ($14 at MAC Cosmetics).

    • She has certainly evolved over the years. I like that she is a real woman, she has no pretense. She was outraged when pictures of her were altered to make her look a certain way. I’m proud that she stood her ground. There are lots of young ladies out there that look up to her.
