Two weeks ago, I was in a meeting to discuss the future of my grand children. CPS was involved and called a meeting because my daughter and her husband are drug addicts. This is the daughter who was not allowing me to see my granddaughter. They just had another daughter in January and that is why CPS was called. My daughter admitted to the hospital she had been using drugs while pregnant. So it was decided that her husband’s mother would take the two year old and my husband and I would take the newborn ( a preemie). Since then, her husband who was supposed to go to rehab in California, because his Uncle runs a rehab out there, stopped in Vegas to party on the way. My daughter has been running around on the streets calling me from God knows where and saying she was talking to this place or that for rehab. Supposedly now she finally has a treatment plan that she is starting on Tuesday next week. These two have no business raising kids. I can’t elaborate everything but his family has money so they don’t have to work and it seems as though appearances are everything to these people. That doesn’t wash with me. If they are going to rehab then do it and do it for real. It just feels like everything is for show to get CPS out of the picture so they can go back to life the way they choose. So I am petitioning the court for permanent guardianship. I want my daughter to get well for real. I want my grandchildren to be safe while she is getting well. It is going to be a long hard road. I just need prayers. I need prayer to give me the strength I need to see this through. My granddaughter is on a heart monitor. She requires round the clock care. I have had to take FMLA to care for her and my FMLA is about to run out. I am at risk to lose my job. I don’t care. What ever it takes to keep her safe.
