Freedom has to be free;  freedom is free...the free is built right in!  It's not freedom unless it's free.  Otherwise, it's not freedom, it's just another form of enslavement.

A Woman's Rap

As I watch with the ripening vision of a now fifty-something Aquarian woman who, if nothing else, has led an interesting life, my family as we grow into ourselves...my gorgeous pushing six o Piscean husband, my amazing tweenage Libra daughter....my timelessly, beautiful, Aquarian mom...and incredible newly adulted Pisces stepson...my siblings....all of you...this is my song, my rap, apparently, according to the Gods of Creativity today, to you that I love as I pray you are free and that every day is independence day for everyone everywhere.

Now, imagine a genuinely talented and musically gifted rapper ...imagine it real good...don't make me perform it live and post it on YouTube (like the Rocking Chair Workout)!

Later, same day...

The creative flow comes and goes in life.  When self-consciousness ebbs and creativity flows you get a video of me performing A Mother's Rap or A Woman's Rap for Freedom.  It doesn't get any realer than this, baby!

Mama’s Rap

"Bring the dark

Up to the light

Let the One who brung ya make it turn out right.

It may sound hard

It might feel rough

Mostly all ya got to do is just show up.

You bloom, you die

Don't get attached

The Godstuff in you, Darlin',  gotta let it hatch.

I do the work

that I want to

So that I can work whenever I need to.

It ain't that hard

You just get up

Nothin's gonna come along and raise you up.

That peace on earth

It's worth a shot

Otherwise we just gonna blow each other up.

 Choose your thoughts!

 Choose your food!

Let your body know you gonna be no fool.

Show yourself!

Show you care!

Else no one's ever  gonna even know you're there.

Mind-blowing love or a great, big, house?

If that's what you want you got to make it yourself.

So, just be real

Respect, have fun

no one knows the day it's gonna be all done.

And, God and his crew

Well, baby,

Baby, we love you.

So, come on,y'all

Les bounce!"

Happy Independence Day, 2011, from a tree-hugging-tax-paying-healthy-hippy-astrologer-earth-muffin-vegetarian-goddess-homeowner-self-sufficient-sister (and, for all Klamath Basiner's, rain-dancer!) - and now, rapper, to all.

Basiner's, remember the parade down Main Street is later in the day this year.

We're joining my daughter's babysitter, Deb's Day Care, with a float entry this year, so look for the one with all the beautiful kids!

And, a million grateful thank you's to Deb Louisignont and family, for making such an incredible space for kids in their hearts, home and lives for the past thirty years.

“When you‘re finally up on the moon, looking back at the earth, all these differences and nationalistic traits are pretty well going to blend and you‘re going to get a concept that maybe this is really one world and why the hell can’t we learn to live together like decent people.”  Frank Borman, Astronaut

"I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how he could look up into the heavens and say there is no God."  Abraham Lincoln
