I know that many of you are still shivering and seeing that strange stuff called snow-but here in AZ we‘re in our summer wear!

Really-sitting here in my tank top and shorts.  To get some vitamin D-I took my Sunday paper and my breakfast onto the patio and realized that about the time I’d finished my 1st cup of coffee that I was sweating.  (8:30 a.m.)

Lucky had even moved herself from sitting on the table and sunbathing to the chair that was now in the shade!

We did have quite the rain on Wednesday and Thursday-but it was still hot.

With this in mind, I’m back to using the grill on almost a daily basis.  We even had our first block BBQ at our neighbor’s Thursday night.  Her home looks over the wash so we all enjoyed the few hours of no rain long enough to eat and watch the cloudy pink “fire” sunset.

Tonight dh gets home around 6, so I’m planning dinner al fresco.  We have to get those outdoor meals in right NOW!  In a month we won’t be able to stand the 110 evenings.

Right now I’ve put a nice dry rub of coffee grounds, S and P and some brown sugar on that steak (yes, the grounds came from my morning joe).  I’m going to slice up some zucchini and brush those with EVOO, S & P and some garlic and the meal will be rounded out with some grilled sweet potato slices coated with some chili powder, salt and EVOO.

Simple meals are usually the best.  Dessert?  I’m thinking that since I have a few leftover shortbreads left that I’ll pop over to Wal-Mart and get a couple of granny smith’s and make individual brown betty/cobblers out of it by wrapping them into foil pouches and putting them onto the grill as well.

Yum!  And welcome to Spring everyone!
