With so many spot treatments available, each claiming to clear up blemishes overnight, containing ingredients like Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, Sulfur, and onto "kitchen cupboard" tips like applying ice, heat, or a tiny dab of minty toothpaste.  Do any of these emergency spot treatments really do the trick?

For those still dealing with adult acne, what do you reach for as an effective spot treatment?

    • In order to prevent adult acne I do the same thing I used to years ago to prevent teen acne.

No sugar, facials every 3 to 4 weeks, and washing my face with face soap twice a day.

      It really helps.

    • Dry-Lo is very effective but I found another product called Bye Bye Blemish which is essentially the same.  It costs much less and you can purchase it in the drugstore....can’t live without it.  I agree with Yana.....avoid sugar.  I also find that using my clarisonic helps as well.
