This probably isn’t the best way to start up a blog but I shall continue...

Don’t know whether we should be concerned or not but last night something really odd happened to my husband and I.  Our eveing was no different to the usual two of kids popped in for a visit our son stayed for supper and went home to his fiancee and we and the dogs sent to bed.  Yes our dogs sleep on the floor in our room.

Eventually we drifted off to sleep and then about 11:20 pm both my husband and I at the same time woke abruptly to what sounded like a female scream (it was just one scream only) it even put one of dogs on alert but none of the dogs barked and ran to investigate as they always do.  My husband searched the whole house and there was nothing out of the norm so we settled down to sleep once again then when we were just about asleep it happened once again - clear as bell and we both jumped up out of bed to investingate called family to make sure all was well, my husband even search our front and back gardens having not found anything once again though unsettled we went back to bed and to sleep.

As I went to bed I reached over and place my crucifix about my neck and in the morning when we woke I saw that my husband also had his cross about his neck.

    • oh
Now how old is your house and how long have you lived there ?

I lived in a 140yr old mansion flat and we had a ghost who was harmless you could smell her scent and she would move stuff like hide shoes which she didn’t like or jewellery or bags and my elderly dog about the last four months of her life used to sit in one place and look like she was being stroked so for me it’s not eerie but if your not used to this then yes.

Have you noticed stuff moved or cold spots or the dogs barking randomly at what seems nothing ?

    • Ok Vicki thats kinda eerie too!

I did a “smudging” when I moved into my current home. Other than my Mom(we think thats who it is)sneaking about there has been no activity!

    • Sounds like a bobcat or other wild cat to me.  Their scream can sound just like a woman’s.

    • Do you live in the country?
I have heard screams before at night and we have concluded that it’s a coyote or something killing a rabbit.
It scared me to death! Sounds exactly like  a woman screaming.

    • Our home here in Florida was built in the year 1960. During childhood though the houses I lived in with my parents and siblings were quite ancient.  When I was eleven my parents bought a large house in the Cotswolds on the Avon River that was 12th century.  And that place was haunted.

    • Rhonda so you know if you have lived in very old English houses that haunted feeling which is hard to explain - so it wasn’t that then ?

    • I kind of agree with the theory that it was an animal of some sort. Rabbits can scream if they are attacked, and Florida has Owls. I used to live in the Tampa Bay area. I had an owl scare the beejeebers out of me screeching like a woman. I probably would have reached for my crucifix too, just in case.
