Sunshine, Sand and Beaches

Are what I long for I am not a land person by nature, I need all of the above to thrive and I have deprived myself by moving to a state where there are none of the above for myself or my children, just on the thought they might be safer here... How I long for the sunshine sand and beaches for the peace that held me together when there wasn’t any to be found... Now I slog through snow instead of sand, I walk around the block instead of beach when I need peace, the sunshines the same, but still it doesn’t seem the same...
Sunshine, Sand and Beaches are what I crave...

    • Thank you for your honesty. It’s a rare individual that can look into their heart and not find some kind of restlessness. For some it’s where they live, for others it’s what they do, for many the categories are in multiples. Even sunny beaches have the occasional rusty nail. I speak from experience. Some call me crazy, I live in paradise but long for geography not surrounded by water. Every day, imagine yourself on the sunny beach of your dreams and maybe, just maybe a life change will come and a moving van will appear at your door.
      I wish you the best
      Cynthia

    • Dear lilli, I have missed Texas because of my old friends and my family (and all the people I grew up with who still live there).  Sometimes I can become quite wistful for it.  Well, here I am living a few miles from the ocean and I had to knock myself on the side of the head and start driving to get myself out of my funk.  I guess in life we have those things we yearn for and we have “what we have“.

My Mom used to talk about becoming wistful for mountains after she and my Dad moved to Texas.  I mean, what is there to look at?  She said she would look up at that big, blue sky and say to herself, “wow, there is no bigger sky anywhere else in the world“.  She learned to love that big sky.

So, I hope that helps.  Now I miss my Mom!!
