    • Boxers are puppies from the day they‘re born till the day they go to doggy heaven. But, I think Max needs to have some formal training. His behavior would bug me, too. I love animals but everyone has to learn to follow the rules.

Where is Caesar when we need him?

    • Boxers are like Pits, they need constant exercise and stimulation. My mom had boxers all her life. We fostered a few when I was a kid.

Unless you have time to give to them ie: exercise, training playing, they are not the dog to own.

And Ceasar, well he is getting a divorce.

    • Janie, your writing is great - I know it’s a real problem, but the way you wrote it, I was just laughing and enjoying the read! The mental picture of you and Max sleeping on the floor, and trying to keep out of Max’s line of sight - great stuff. I mean, you could write a book, people would love it.

      Peace,
      Suzann

    • Sounds like a 4-legged tantrum throwing toddler. I wish some dog I was feeding would growl at me when I went to sit on MY couch in MY house! S/He would be permanently on a leash and outside in its own doghouse. I agree about the training. My friend has a Doberman which, in her happy puppy hood, was dragging him around the street when he would attempt to walk her and chewing through every shoe in the house.

The shoe thing was his father's fault because he gave her an old shoe to play with and I explained to my friend, because of that old shoe, every  shoe is an old shoe! So he brought in a trainer - cost him like $100 a session (man I wish I could make that sort of money!) and now she's a much calmer dog, still having a few puppy issues, but nothing like before.
