Ladies,

THANK YOU, because of you Fabuloulys40.com is in the news.

Last year, I posted   a two-part blog about leaping into change and switching gears mid-life. In part one, I covered most of what it entails to make such a move or at least be aware of what we want to do with our future. In part two, I shared my own story of triumphs, failures in business, and growing pains.

There was, however, one thing I did not discuss. I never mentioned my burning desire to create a social network for women 40 and beyond. It was my passion because I saw an important demographic that was not being filled. And any time there is a need, there is real opportunity.

At first, I didn’t talk about my new passion for fear of jinxing it. Of course, no one can really jinx you unless you let them. But I wasn’t ready to publicly state that I had a new mission. Looking back, perhaps I had a subconscious fear of failure because it was such a new venture for me. Nevertheless, even though I was working 24/7 to build the site from scratch, I wasn’t about to go public until I had something tangible to show for it.

Since launching the site two years ago, all of you have been my support, my inspiration, my rock and my determined drive. Fabulously40.com has matured and became fabulously40 and beyond. After all, we do love getting wiser!

thank you

Today when we are looking really pretty, when our community has grown by leaps and bounds and we are getting the recognition we deserve, I thank all of you for being there to support me and our other members. I am grateful to you for providing the environment for women to feel welcomed and cozy, and I am grateful to our contributing writers who have been with us almost from inception -- Carine, Dana, Beverly, Grace, Kathy and Allie,(to name a few) and our panel of experts. Thanks to all of you for allowing me to live my dream and helping me to achieve what only two years ago seemed impossibly out of reach.

I want you to know that dreams do come true, as long as we are continuously inspired to pursue them. I’ll be the first to say it’s a hard job, but it is possible. If we devise a plan, stick to it and believe in ourselves even when others don’t, we will succeed.

One of the hard parts is overcoming the skeptics who take delight in telling you that it can’t be done. If they give you 20 reasons why you will fail, you need to give them 50 reasons why you will succeed! And when you do succeed, the recognition makes it all worthwhile. Just the other day, one of my critics said to me, “I never expected you to get this far.” I could not help but smile and thank him for the compliment.

Sometimes we need to step back, reevaluate, regroup and redesign, but the one thing we never do is quit. In order to live our best lives, we need to continuously improve ourselves inside and out. We also need to take charge.

When the going gets tough, it’s easy to stay in bed and make excuses. It’s easy to rationalize why this cannot and will not work. And it’s hard to push ourselves and stay focused and excited. But, IT IS POSSIBLE! It’s all about possibilities that become our responsibilities and later our achievements. It’s up to us to live the life we desire.

Today, I'm on a new mission with a new passion. I want to help you live your dream and be passionate about it. I created a new group named Doing What You Love. If you have a burning desire to do what you love, let's meet in cyberspace and brainstorm how we can make it happen.

Be brave, and begin your journey to the best part of your life!

 All the best,
