I found this information in one of my favorite magazines and I hope it will help my friends here at Fab40  who have fibromyalgia. It is a lengthy article so I am not sure how much of the article I will write about at this time, but rest assured I will add to it.  Please note that I have NOT researched what has already been mentioned, so I do apologize if I am covering old territory.  My hope is that it is new information that you can try, which will lead you to a life without pain.

The article begins with a women who suffered with fibro. Doctors told her that her blood test were normal and that it was all in her head. She felt helpless and hopeless after finding a doctor who did diagnose her as having fibro, but the treatment was not helpful.

After still having creeping feelings that her symptoms were all in her head she discovered the book “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia.(Wellness Central,2006) by R.Paul St.Armand,M.D., and Claudia Craig Marek.  She took this book to her rheumatologist, but it was “shot down.”  Skeptical that it would actually help, she still made a two hour trip to see Dr.St.Amand at The Fibromyalgia Treatment Center in Los Angeles. She felt as though she had stumbled into a alternate universe. For the first time she felt like her illness was regarded as real and treatable.

Dr. St. Amand recommended following a diet designed to reduce phosphates ( a form of the mineral phosphorous thought to trigger fibro) that involved  avoiding soda and consuming more magnesium and calcium. He also advised taking the OTC remedy guaifenesin (Mucinex) which is thought to rid the body of phosphates.

This turned out to be nothing short of lifesaving. Within a couple of months her pain and tenderness began to ease and was once again able to experience the simple joy of waking up after a good night’s sleep, feeling energetic and ready to start her day. Today she is active in many fund raisers, and is going back to work. Best of all she states that she is once again able to enjoy a tender hug from her husband without feeling pain. She states that her life is normal again !

I hope this information will help you !

I wish all of my fibro friends only health and happiness~!
