When I’d get home from school everyday, my mom would be on the couch watching As The World Turns. She’d always ask me to watch it with her. As I passed her by to get to my room, she’d tell me about storylines and characters. Slowly, I became interested. It became a nightly ritual to watch the day’s episode as we ate dinner (my dad too!).

Today, both of my parents are gone and I still watch the show DAILY!! If I miss an episode, I can go on line and watch a podcast! God Bless Tivo too!

Are there any other ATWT fans out there?

Who are some of your favorite characters?

    • I watch Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful, As the World Turns and General Hospital..I get a little put off with some of the storylines on some of the soaps and then I go on strike and stop watching them for a bit..Right now..(not stepping on any toes I hope) I’m not comfortable with the homosexual storyline on ATWT...

    • Goodness it sounds like we all got started watching the soaps with our grandma’s.  It was a ritual for my grandma to have lunch on before “As the World Turns” came on then we would go in the living room and watch it for the half hour then go and do the lunch dishes. After my Grandpa retired then he would watch them with her when I couldn’t.  If I missed an episode I would call her and ask.  I miss that today but still think fondly of the times we would sit and watch the soap.  Now I watch all the CBS shows... It’s a wonder I get any housework done...lol

    • I think everyone has the right to feel the way they feel. Soulful-you didn’t step on my toes. However, I have no problem with it.
