Here is comes again!!  Like a vengeance!  My body is aching, I am bloated and if anyone looks at me sideways I swear I will take their head off!!
I never know what to expect next! All the changes my body is trying to go through at the age of 46 and still I feel like a roaring lion charging on its prey!
I don’t know how to deal with all of these changes and I am now 2 days late according to my monthly calendar! I just wish it would get here already so I can move on...

Sorry ladies...PMS is wearing on me today and I needed to VENT!!
How do you deal with this time of the month??

    • Jeanie, my periods were like clockwork until a year or so ago. Now I never know when I’m going to have one, or even if I’m going to have one. I saw a doctor, told her every symptom I was having and she said, “well, no surprise, you‘re 47 and you‘re going through perimenopause.” The strange thing is if you ask 10 women to describe their menopause you’ll get 10 variations of the thing. Eventually we stop making eggs, our estrogen and progesterone levels get askew and our bodies and emotions experience the backlash. Quite frankly, it stinks.

Believe me when I say this, I feel what you‘re going through.

I went on bioidentical hormones. I’ve been on them a couple of weeks now and I believe it’s helping. I hear that after about a month I’ll feel great again. I’m hopeful.

And venting to your girlfriends is the very best way to start feeling better. We‘re all here for you, my friend.

    • Aunt Flo visited me bright and early today!!  She wasn’t supposed to arrive until tomorrow, but oh well!!  Lately, She’s just been showing up when she feels like it. Sometimes a couple of days early, sometimes a few days late.  I knew she was coming because I have been biting off heads left and right!  Every since I was a teen, I always crave doritos and a snickers candy bar, at least twice during the week before she shows up.  Since about the age of 38, I’ve been having some “female” problems around the time aunt flo is to show up.  My Gynecologist said I have a cyst on one of my ovaries.  Nothing really to worry about, but it usually puts me down for the whole week before she shows up.  He said I can have a procedure done where they “sloth” off the lining of my uterus, I keep my ovaries and my uterus, but no more periods!!  Sounds like a winner to me, but I’ve been told WE NEED OUR PERIODS, until we reach menopause.  Having the procedure done is still up in the air for me, but until then, I’m gonna take my Aleve and eat my chocolate and doritos!!

Who do I talk to about not having to go through this “change?” I was not consulted beforehand, and feel it is highly unfair!tongue out

    • Sweetie..I am so sorry you are going through all of this, but as I have said in previous posts. You are Soooo not alone. I did start taking  what is called  a “womans ultra vitamin” especially for pre menopausal women. It does help but , for example, like today...I just feel BLAH...not a bad mood, not sad, just blah! It sucks...I really have no reason to feel blah, i don’t like blah..LOL. I am colorful and perky...annoyingly so at times...LOL. So this just rots.

I will add you to my prayers...I hope you feel better!Hey...ya know what??? I really like you! You are fast becoming someone I  truly look forward to hearing from and talking too!
      Have a good Sunday afternoon!
      Friends,
      Ree

I had to have the surgery in order to have pain-free lovemaking as I had fibroids and such. I don’t have noticeable mood swings but then again I take all kinds of vitamins and drink soy milk and eat iron fortified foods.

But I would say hang in and on as long as you can.

    • I am not a fan of Aunt Flo... having been pregnant so much of my life has made her a scarce vistor until last year when I weaned Matthew. I was never regular before babies so it doesn’t suprise me I have no clockwork timing. And typically no warning which is a blessing and a curse. I just try to follow the boyscout motto and always be prepared. :)
I generally take a product with wild yam in it and other things that really helps with hormone balancing, cramping, and all the moodiness. I somehow let myself run out and now I and my family are suffering. I am feeling your bloatedness, achiness, and GROUCHINESS and told my hubby tonight that I’d be glad when he got home so I could raid his stash (it is a general hormone balancer for men too.) I hate feeling bloated, and I hate the back ache. I am so ready for menopause, and am hoping since my body has been in overdrive for 20 years it will come and pass quickly. I know women who use this product who passed over the bridge without even noticing. I am hoping for that! I’d be ecstatic to wake up one morning and see Aunt Flo in the obituaries!

    • Morning Ladies...

Just wanted you all to know that all of your kind words of encouragement and support were so much appreciated!!

Cynthia~ I may try the bioidentical hormones and a box of chocolates, please!
Vivki~ Ben and Jerry are always welcome at my house..I think I will check out the menopause tablets that you described too!
Carol, Michelle & Doreen~ Seems we are on the same cycle...UGH!!
Jenz~ If I start indulging, I won't want to stop...funny thing is..I only feel that way a few days b4 aunt flo arrives and during her visit I don't want anything to do with the sweet stuff...weird,huh?
CD~ my friend, always there for a good laugh!! NO HOKEY POKEY and unclogged today...LOL
Psalm~ laughter is the best medicine!
Cindylou~ Bite your tongue girl! This is nearly impossible, since the hubz went through the "big snip" 6 years ago!! As far as protesting menopause...you start it, I will follow...LOL!!
Lori, Cmen ~ WOW - a hysterectomy at a such a young age!
47 I thought about having my tubes tied for about a second...then told hubz..it's his turn to contribute..dr. explained it this way..tubes tiedmajor surgery..Vasectomy~ snip and a tuck..back on your feet the next day!
Ree!!! thanks for your kind words and the beautiful picture! I really should get back on my vitamins, I just such a hard time swallowing the horse pills...why do they have to be so big?? I hate the "blahs" too! Yesterday was so beautiful, just to be outside in the fresh air, did wonders for me!!BTW I like you too! =)
Happy~  I have always been 28 days exact..for as long as I can remember!! Aunt Flo showing up unannounced is unacceptable!! The thing is why get all of the PMS symptoms and then have to wait until she feels like showing up, one month I skipped...now that was weird...but I blamed it on stress! Ugh!!!

After plenty of fresh air yesterday and then cleaning house like crazy (this is funny... I broke my swifter, I guess I don’t know my own strength) LOL... Anyway..house smells so clean and fresh air circulating through the house.. Aunt Flo decided to come for a visit anyway...dang her!!!

Well I guess~ Better Late then Never, or she just wanted to be fashionably late!!
      UGH!!!

      =)  [[hugs to all}}
