My husband asked me if my hand was up to making him some cookies over the weekend.  Considering my stomach decided on Thursday night to make sure I wasn’t going to be eating anything more than toast and tea for the remainder of the week, I thought this rather odd.

However, last night I tried.  I made him some of those addicting breakfast cookies that everyone declared good for anytime.  I did my usual and made a few changes.  Since the grandkids aren’t here to help eat them on the weekends and our son and daughter-in-law moved out, making a batch of 18 is a lot for 2 people.

But since hubby’s a great guy-I scooted the old kitchen-aid forward and made him some.  I no longer have a box of cheerios in the house, but since I eat some form of kashi most mornings I switched the 3 C of honey nut oat rounds for Go Lean Crunch.  Since we no longer have the little ones and our son who think crunchy peanut butter is something akin to death-I now get the crunchy version and used it.

I also do not have to watch the caffeine in the 1/4 C of coffee-so I used what was left of my morning pot of macademia raspberry.

They turned out very good indeed.

Trouble was-by the time they came out of the oven, hubby realized that he caught the bug I started Thursday night.

Sigh.

Friday-I’ll write up the latest version of the recipe to share.
