40 is not 20 When crawling out of bed in the morning, does not seem as easy as it once was. Knowing where your going and what your doing before your feet hit the floor will be the secret to living longer then most, active imaginations, and an active mind outside of the everyday mundane will keep me young beyond my years.

Acting my age and looking my age are two totally different creatures, when this is a good thing? I still get carded at restaurants and stores when I go, whistled at walking down the road and this is a great boost to and ego!

Patience is still not a virtue. Silence is not my strong suit, but knowing when and when not to, is the Wisdom I have gained. Living for myself and not others is the stuff to live for, I don’t have to qualify for anyone these days I have learned to live for me.

40 is not 20 when age is just a number like all others, B’ days come and go and I don’t think about them either way the one thing I have learned about them,is to see them as the accomplishments that they are and what they will be. Knowing what I have given and what and who I have left behind.

So I say this enjoy what has gone, what you have and what you will be. Knowing that 40 is not 20 but it’s free....

    • Amen!!  I was intimidated by 30 because I could no longer say I was 20 something.  But when 40 came rumbling along, I embraced it.  I love the path my life is on.  I just need to remind myself occasionally that life is a journey and I need to live every day to its fullest.
But oh, the getting out of bed is hard (lol).

    • And then.....it’s your daughter who gets whistled at walking down the road.   BIG crash into the wall moment.

But it’s ok, it’s really ok.  I wouldn’t trade being 49 for 19 any day of the week.  Each and every wrinkle, ache and  grey hair is all mine, honestly won.  I’ve learned how to say no and mean it, how to really carve time out for myself, and even how to sometimes put myself first.

Ahhhhhh, now THAT makes getting out of bed easy.

    • I don’t know, I might trade 19 for a day, if only just to have all this confidence in that young body.............wow that would be BIG fun.
