Hello,

I am new to this website and wanted to introduce myself.  I am Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino, the Co-Founder of Best Ever You at [Link Removed]

I’m an entrepreneur and social marketing guru. I thought you might like this article I wrote about social marketing.

-------------

So let’s talk about social marketing websites for a bit.

So you're on Facebook and thinking your pretty hip, you‘re experimenting on Twitter and perhaps you’ve even joined Linked In? While you’ve been busy coming up to speed on social marketing, about 30 other new sites have popped up and are ready for you to spend the other 2-6 remaining hours of your day on them as well!  (That should leave some time to sleep, wake up and Twitter that you in fact "are awake"),

If you haven't had enough with just Facebook or still don't quite understand why people would want to know "What you are doing?" on any of the sites or on a regular basis, just wait, there's more. There are about 25-30 more and new sites popping up daily.  So, I joined many of the newer ones to see what they are all about.  My favorite of the bunch is [Link Removed] /the only international women's business networking community on the internet of its kind. It is like LinkedIn, well, just much more PINK and with information channels and other goodies!  Other favorites are www.propeller.com and www.newsvine.com, but I could also spend a lot of time on www.livejournal.com as well as www.digg.com.  Digg is kind of fun to Digg things or Dugg things (bury them) and the stories and/or photos go up or down in the rankings based on what people think.

I basically see a whole new career brewing in these times—“The Social Marketing Executive,” along with the new courses and field of study for counseling social marketing internet addictions that will be following us for years to come.)  But you know the one at your company, who, on behalf of your company is living on the internet now with full internet access and the permission to just sit on the internet (if they aren’t already with their phone) and promote your company and business for 8 full hours to over 30 social marketing sites. This person, all jokes aside, is really quite useful, as people are on the internet and to find your audience, these are the places to be.

Back to the jokes though, I see this person, after a hard day’s work of Twittering, then going home to catch up on a bit of personal internet business.  This is where they spend the remaining hours of their world checking their personal emails and status and sending out updates to the other social sites too or needing a good read on each of them to see what they missed on the ride home. I’m waiting anxiously to see what this year’s Maine Little League season looks like with a sea of Twittering parents in the stands.

Ok, so back to seriousland with PinkLinx founder, Theresa Petruzzelli, who says, “Social networking is an objective women haven’t been able to really grab hold of opportunistically. Pinklinx fills that gap and celebrates being a woman in business as well as being a woman.  Our registration is growing consistently and with that, many opportunities are added to the list of what a Pinklinx.com member can have.”

In fact, just ask Eddie Ojeda, guitarist for the rock group Twisted Sister, who has over 5,942 friends and 83,484 visitors to their MySpace and concerts packed etc. Ojeda says, “MySpace is an excellent interactive way for anyone in the entertainment business to stay in contact with friends and fans. It also allows you to let people know where you are performing and making live appearances.

An excellent over all Internet networking tool.”

So how can one possibly keep up with all the new social marketing sites?  Try www.sharethis.com.  This lovely site enables you as a business owner to have your information shared by others or by yourself.  After someone reads your article or information or news piece or what have you, if you’ve set it up on your website, they can click “share this” and pick which social marketing site to blast it to.

Wait, this article just got interrupted. Yes, my fellow social marketing gurus, my computer is ringing.  I’ve gotta run, it’s my 63 year old Minnesota-based parents calling me on Skype.com to video talk to the grandkids!
