Having a blended family can be very challenging.  His kids, your kids, making everyone happy and finding a middle ground where everyone can grow from the experience.  Like I said, this is challenging but when you become a blended family after everyone is 21, the challenge is much greater.  Everyone is molded, practices have been allowed or disallowed and people have become who they are going to be in life.  When two sets of values come together, there is often turmoil and disruption in everyone’s daily life.  Not one person is left unscared and without pain.  So how do families get through it?  

Family Meeting-that is supposed to be the answer.  But wait-is there time for a family meeting?  One has to go to the gym, the other has to wait for his girlfriend to get here because he can’t talk but she can, the other has to get home from work-oh yea and dinner needs to be fixed, eaten and cleaned up and showers need to be taken.....maybe after that right?  Well while we wait for the family meeting to be scheduled, lets make a list of things that needs to be addressed. 1-personal space, 2-respect of others, 3-the cleaning fairy.....4-5-6...........and the list goes on.  

The outcome of this meeting is yet to be determined, however until then maintaining sanity is vitally important.  Walking helps, it burns calories, clears the mind and give one time away from the issues at hand.  Talking to friends-they have great advice, listen very well, and once said outloud-problems seem to diminish somewhat. And most importantly, remember that you are not the only one going through this same problem-the world is full of problems, someone else is sharing your pain and frustrationestatic
