Love it

As I mentioned last week-for the first time in over a decade I will be going Trick-or-Treating.  This time it will be with the grandkids.

Now I love Halloween-but seriously-my neighborhood is one of the least holiday minded areas I've ever seen.  In the last 10 years, we've had a total of 5 trick-or-treaters!  Yep, every year on the 31st, we start to panic thinking if we don't buy at least 1 bag of mini-candy bars that this will be the year we will be "hit" with hundreds of kids.

Never happens.  Hubby winds up taking the one lowly bag of chocolate to work.  When our kids were at that stage of life-we took them to the mall.  I was never comfortable with hitting up neighbors that I never saw for candy I really didn't want my kids to eat.

So we'd let them dress up, we'd drive to the mall (sometimes plural) and let them have their fun.  Then we'd go to the fast food place of their choice and we'd have dinner.  They had fun, we had fun, and it was well lit and warm.

That's exactly what I'm going to do this year.  We're going about 4 in the afternoon.

Our original plans for the evening were that we were going to a Clippers game, courtesy of free tickets from my husband's employer.  Our son and daughter-in-law were coming with us, but now-they will go and I'll have a fun time with the kids.  My husband will help with the actual trick-or-treating and then I'll take them back home and the boys and I will make a special kid friendly dinner for the three of us!

Come back Friday to see what scary things the boys and I will eat for our Halloween supper!

Love it
