This is the first installment of Nicciknows for Wedding I asked their readers to send in their beauty questions and thought you all could benefit from Nicciknows tips!

1)      Hi, my beauty question is how do you keep your eyeliner from smudging on your bottom lid? I always feel like I put it on in the morning and by afternoon it's everywhere but where I wanted it!

Here are two tips for that: a) use an eyeshadow primer on your eyelid like Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($16 at to absorb excess oil and b) use a waterproof eyeliner pencil like the MAC Powerpoint Pencil ($14 at MAC

2) How do I use a highlighting cream so I look luminescent, not blotchily shiny? Any tips or techniques for applying highlighter would be much appreciated!

This depends on what you use and also what you are using it over. If you typically wear powder, then I would suggest using a powder shimmer highlighter like Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick ($38 at Nordstrom). Use a blush brush and apply it to the tops of your cheekbones blending back toward your hairline.

3) I am very blonde, and I'm considering whether to wear false eyelashes on my day. I've been told before to wear brown shades of mascara (although I mostly don't wear any at all) instead of black. Will falsies be totally overwhelming on me? Also, is there a particular length, type, etc. that someone of my coloring should go for?

I would recommend wearing lashes on your big day but if you want to look more natural, pick up the MAC #31 Lashes ($12 at Nordstrom), which look really natural!

4) I want to have a "rosy", natural look for my wedding day. I've heard that you should layer your blush...can you explain? Thanks!

Yes, layering your blush is a great idea. Start with Tarte Cheek Stain in Blushing Bride ($28 at under foundation and then over your foundation, go with a flashy color of powder blush like MAC Powder Blush in Pinch O Peach ($17.50 at Nordstrom)

5) I have blue eyes. Which shade of eye shadow will make my eyes more noticeable?

Copper is great from bringing out blue! Try the Sue Devitt Pencil in Tanzania($22 at
