Have you all seen President Bush ducking from the thrown shoes in Iraq? My husband thinks it is hilarious and is still bringing it up. There is no disrespect in this blog, just humor. How many times have we seen a President duck from a thrown shoe? OMG! It is quite funny if you haven’t seen it yet. And the President is smiling.
Leno mentioned this on his show last night.
He (from my husband’s words) said that Leno said...
For the first time President Bush leaned left. lol
And you would think after the first shoe at least one body guard would appear. lol
Leno said this isn’t the first time a President has had things thrown at him... President Clinton has had shoes,ash trays,etc. thrown at him. lol
Perhaps there is a video out there, I just don’t have the time to find it this morning. I just wanted to give you all a laugh this morning.
And again, this is NO disrespect towards President Bush... I am laughing WITH him.
*In reality it is a REAL disrespect in Iraq to have the soul of a shoe thrown at your face. If I were to look at this in a serious nature my blog would have a different tone to it.
Shopgirl, I couldn’t believe it when I saw the replay. President Bush, when the first shoe was throw kind of ducked and came back up like he was going to box somebody.
He looked quited amused and stunned.
I also intend no disrepsect at all, he thought it was quite amusing.
I heard that Bush said in a later interview... “All I know is it was a size ten!”
And Della, you‘re right... where was security after that first shoe was thrown? The guy had time to reach down, take off the other shoe, stand back up and throw it!
My husband predicted things would get weird toward the end of Bush’s term, but I’m not sure anybody predicting flying shoes!
