Can I See Your ID? The last time I was asked to show my ID was 39 years ago. At that time we were going to a local club to dance and the bouncer/doorman stopped me and asked that I show him my ID. Everyone thought it was so funny because at the time I was 29 and had 3 children. And I was a little annoyed because here I was a grown woman and I was being treated like a bubble gum popping teenage trying to sneak into a place where I should not have been.  When I was sixteen and going to the local places we all went to to dance I never once was asked to show an ID and here I was an adult and pulled aside to show ID.
Now I am a Senior Citizen and am using all the coupons and discounts for seniors that I can.  Took me a while to get to this point in my life to step up and ask for the “Senior Discount” but have finally made the leap.  So off to the grocery store I go on “Senior Citizen Discount Day” to do some major shopping to get my 10% discount. My basket is loaded, my coupons have all been collected and organized for the girl at the checkout and then I ask to apply the Senior Citizen discount!!!  A look comes across this young girls face and she very timidly asked if she could see my ID!! I must admit I was not sure what emotion I was feeling right at that moment; happy, embarrassed, a combination of both or upset because this young girl would even think that someone would try to take advantage of a Senior Discount and not really be a senior.
