Renew your way of thinking

On the last day of December 2007, I decided that my life had to be better in 2008. I could no longer live life hoping my life was less stressful, hoping to loose weight, and overall peace of mind would get better, it absolutely had to be better. I was burnt out on my job because I worked 50 plus hours per week and never seem to have time or enough money to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

I am a force to be reckoned with. I’m smart, determined, never give up on what I believe in, but in spite of these qualities, I continued to make poor choices (mainly guided by my emotions) in life. So on that eventful day I opened up my bible and Romans 4:18-24 was staring up at me.

In short version, the passage refers to the Covenant that God made with Abraham promising to make him the father of many nations. This promise came at a time when Abram was old and Sarah, his wife was barren. Although in the natural this seemed impossible, Abraham hoped in faith that God would keep his promise, he did not weaken in faith. No unbelief or distrust made him waver concerning the promise. I renewed my thinking that day. God is my creator and Savior, if I can’t trust him, then whom could I really trust?

My new way of thinking begins today December 31, 2007: I will trust God's way of doing things.  I will stop living according to my way of thinking (I've been doing that for almost 49 years and I still didnt have peace of mind )and submit my life completely to the One who created me. I will keep you up to date on how this works for me.  I am confident that this is the wisest decision of my life.
