Usually several of the neighbourhood cats come to visit, but not a single one today. There’s Frankiecat, Smartiepants, Flashpants, Gingerboots and Nigel. A new Abysinian has appeared but she’s a timid little thing. Frankiecat is the ‘bosscat‘. A real wandering tomcat who really has adopteed my front garden as his patch. When I’m not looking and Frankiecat’s not looking, Nigel sneaks into my home, up the stairs to lie stretched out on my bed. The former doesn’t sneak in. He announces himself and wants a snack before reclining on my nice new rug.

A former work colleague emailed asking if I was still single, and would I like a blind date. I’ve been on many over the years, between two major relationships. I can’t say that blind dates ever work. Any important relationship has always occured through some kind of group event. I was just thinking, it’s really rare these days to encounter a man with whom I feel any connection to/chemistry with. I don’t think we‘re on the same page of life’s still being written book. I wish I could attract a fine man the way I attract cats.
