A friend of mine that I work with had her divorce finalized last Friday. Since she caught him cheating, celebrating the divorce was definitely a must! A small group of friends gathered for dinner and afterward the real fun began. Now I have been married for 3 years so I have to live vicariously through my single friends. I am also considerably older than any of the females out that night. (They are all still in their 20’s). Oddly enough though, I did not feel like the Old Maid out that night. Might have been because of the 2 chocolate martinis, 2 Coronas & the shot of tequila! We started our night off at a place called the Sand Bar. Ya know, the whole “beachy” theme with sand on the floor & even a small wading pool for those drunk people stupid enough to jump into it. There we sat at an outdoor table and played a little game that my recently divorced friend had brought. We had to pick a card at random and do whatever was on it. (Now this could really get me into some trouble!) Luckily I did not get the “make out with a stranger at the bar” card!!! We also had to find different types of men there like the “I’m too old to be in this place” guy, the “fake tan” guy, the “Hawaiian shirt” guy & the “booty call” guy. I haven’t had that much fun out in a bar in a long time! It also doesn’t hurt the ego to have 20-something year old guys hitting on you all night!  I know that was due to their alcohol consumption & lack of lighting but it was innocently fun anyways! And the best part about the night was that I got to go home to my SUPER SEXY husband and feel blessed that I will never pick up a drunk man in a bar again!
