!pic  The other day I was reading an article that said that drinking too much coffee can cause severe dehydration. Dehydration is a worrisome medical condition that needs to be evaluated by your medical doctor. If you suspect that you‘re dehydrated, stop drinking coffee, and begin drinking water or sports beverages that contain electrolytes. If you develop other side effects, such as dizziness, feeling jittery, sleeplessness or nervousness, talk to your doctor or stop drinking less coffee. The caffeine in coffee is the cause of its side effects, including dehydration.

The average 8 oz. cup of coffee contains between 102 mg and 200 mg of caffeine, according to the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Researchers at one time professed that caffeinated beverages, such as coffee, could cause you to urinate more than usual, causing you to be at greater risk of becoming dehydrated. More recent studies reported by MayoClinic.com say dehydration is not common from drinking moderate amounts of coffee. If you consume more than 500 mg which is four to seven cups of coffee daily, you may become dehydrated.

For years I had been drinking at least 3 or more cups of coffee a day. I just love the taste of coffee and all the various flavors. I did not realize that I was at risk of becoming hydrated. In March of this year I was told to stop drinking coffee that I was harming my health so I stopped.

However, I really missed the taste and the joy of drinking a nice hot cup of coffee in the middle of the day. You see coffee was a part of a ritual during the day, it is the time I take to relax and take a break from the hectic activities of a busy schedule!

3 months later I was told about a healthier alternative that has changed my life!

I discovered mocha, lattes and regular coffee infused with a 4000 year old herb called Ganoderma Lucidem. This herb has healing capacites that heals from the inside out. Ganoderma lucidum, also known as the reishi mushroom, is an herbal supplement that is known to be an immune system stimulant. It is often taken by HIV and AIDS patients to keep their immune systems as healthy as possible.

It is also said to be helpful for people suffering from fatigue, inflammation, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Spores from the mushroom’s cap and stem are collected to make ganderma lucidum available in pill form.

The flavor is bold and rich and I no longer miss regular coffee! My health challenges have gone away and the bliss I get from a healthier coffee is undescribable.

When I say change your coffee, change your life believe me it really does.
