My son left this computer stickie note for me this evening while I ran to the store.  Along with it two pictures of two different labs that are up for adoption.  He wants a “lab” pup so bad.  We have been round and round about the dog and tonight he looked at me with his silly grin and said, “well Mom am I getting a dog?”  If you could see my son and his cute little face with minor dimples...you would just melt.  We almost adopted one from Lisa on FAB40 but we just didn’t think with an older pup it would work out with my dog that I have now.  She is old and can’t hear.  And he has always wanted a lab.  I’ve enclosed the pictures.  Tell me which you like best...the black or the chocolate.

HERE IS HIS NOTE THAT HE LEFT ME.....

Please let me know what you think about these little pups.......they both need a home but can only get one   so have a heart and adopt one for me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Black or Brown??? both females.

Ben
Would love one!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :)

(NOW HOW COULD YOU TURN THAT DOWN????)  I’m in a pickle here.

    • My son is 19 years old...this is the one that loves to cook, hunt, fish, and  he has his own lawn business.

He’ll make some girl a great husband one day.

    • I favor the chocolate one .....my sister had a chocolate and she was sooooo sweet.  Maybe that is why.

    • That is what I’m saying to myself right now....how could you break up the sisters???  It would really be easier to have two...then they could play with each other.  What have I gotten myself into now. They will definitely stay outside during the daytime.

    • Before I got Hannah, my mixed breed, I planned on getting a female chocolate lab and naming her Sophie. Both of your pix are cute, but that choc lab is sooooooooo special!

    • Two is just as easy as one....but exactly twice as expensive! I never place $$ over dogs. I am a big believer of two dogs...always have had 2...they thrive on each other!

    • What a predicament! You mentioned that you have an older dog that can’t hear. I would make a list of why you should and shouldn’t get a puppy. Would the older dog do well with the puppy? There is a lot of work to having a puppy, as I’m sure your well aware of. I know that for me I will think a long time before getting another baby... even though they are such wonderful joys! Your son is 19... soon he will have a place all of his own and he can have as many “fury angels” as he wants.

Have you thought of adopting a full grown lab that has a submissive type personality?  I’m afraid a puppy might annoy your senior dog.  lol lol

    • Before I looked at the pictures, I automatically thought...ohhhh a chocolate lab!
But I looked at the pictures and the black lab looks so sweet!
Let me do my inny minny miney moe.......it landed on the chocolate lab.
Believe it or not, I have to play this game with myself several times a day. It kind of helps me to make decisions that tend to clutter my mind.
      Chocolate it is!

    • I have a mixed lab and husky and she is the most loving dog.  Labs are very good family dog.  However, as puppies they are a lot of work because they want to chew on EVERYTHING.  What I did with mine was buy her tons of toys and I would always put them in her crate.  She got use to her toys and she has never chewed on anything but her toys.  She’s now 14 months old and we will probably get another dog once she turns 2 and is out of the puppy stage.

    • Thanks ya’ll.  Well.....I called today and both of the dogs in the pics are already gone...but they still have a brother available with we didnt’ see online...and it’s a male black lab.

My son wants the lab sooooooo bad.
Shopgirl...you are right about my senior dog. I am worried about all of this. I do not want to upset her or change her ways. When we are gong she has free reign over the house. She doesn’t mess up...or bother anything. She sleeps a lot now. I do have a sunroom that the lab can stay in if I don’t want to leave him outside and I do have a fence in backyard.
My son has never really asked for anything special before and it’s just hard to resist his request.

To make matters worse, my sister that lives across the street...she lost her 12 year old white lab about a month ago.  Sweetest dog.  But today she and her husband drove to North Carolina and purchased a Westie.  Oh my gosh..what a cute dog.  So we have been over at her house playing with the puppy.  We came home and Ben states that he is going to name his lab “Rudy“.  I have to get the dog...he will be so disappointed.  I think I’m going to tell him it is gone and get them to hold the dog until Christmas if they will...and put a big red bow around his neck.  Decisions....decisions...
