Claim the quiet peace of the new dawn,

An early morning waking

To ever new promises of spring,

Forever caressing the horizon of time;

Claim the quiet peace of melting waters,

Seeping into the deep, dark crevices

In the quickly fracturing ice,

Wending its way wherever water goes;

Claim the quiet peace of new buds,

Secretly, silently, stalling for time;

Waiting for the exact, perfect moment

Of their tension’s ultimate release;

Claim the quiet peace of the lake’s gentle mist,

Lying dormant like a fragile, icy coat,

Casually tossed upon an empty shoreline,

Soon to be transformed into hovering clouds;

Claim the quiet peace of remote pastures,

Forever hidden, deep within the forest,

Still covered by a blanket of pure, white snow;

The earth kept warm, until it’s time to awaken;

Claim the quiet peace of the solitary sun,

Calmly rising, a perfect release of wondrous light;

Its rays, broadening their vast expanse,

Effortlessly, surpassing every boundary;

Claim the quiet peace of two mourning doves,

Their plaintive call, resounding in the distance;

The gentle cooing of love birds courting,

Preparing for their day of anticipation;

Claim the quiet peace of nature’s wondrous beauty;

Forever enrobed in perfection’s attire,

Entirely encompassed in unique splendor,

A simple manifestation of divine favor;

Claim the quiet peace of one, solitary snowflake,

Silently, slowly, tumbling to the ground,

Ending winter’s horrific fury and torment;

The history of its day, suddenly to disappear;

Claim the quiet peace of someone truly blessed,

Relaxing in total and perfect peace,

Knowing that the world, as it has been planned,

Remains forever right with its maker;

Claim the quiet peace of tender moments

With loved ones, awakening to the morning,

With all of the possible worries of a new day,

Miraculously disappearing, ultimately resolved;

Claim the quiet peace of happy children waking,

Knowing peace, love and contentment;

Hidden laughter resounding everywhere,

Re-echoing in the fragile hollows of human lives;

Claim the quiet peace ...
