I have been a member of this site since 2008 and it is only now January 2011 that I am finally going to take time for myself and share the Crazy Times of my life.
I need to be somewhere I can be myself and say anything without people criticizing me. Some place where there are other woman feeling the way I do, going through things like me(I always think it only happens to me) and a type of bonding and nurturing environment.
I will be talking about myself, my ex-husband, children, my relationships with men and my friends and my career.
I welcome all your comments.
I have been divorced for 13 months but was separated for about 3 years prior. I have a son that is 15 years old with ADHD and a daughter 9 years old and no ADHD. I too have been diagnosed with adult ADHD. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago when I started seeing a therapist.
I went through a very difficult divorce and unfortunately my children are the ones that have been hurt the most, especially my son.
After we were separated I decided to go back to school full time and get my degree in Information Technology. As of now I am half way there.
I would say that in the pass 4 years I have felt lost and I decided that I need to finally find myself because I have been to busy focusing on everyone else and helping them. I forgot about someone important and that was ME.

    • Hey, I also have ADHD.  I was actually diagnosed as a hyper child when younger...ADHD wasn’t around..was called something else ( i dont remember) that alluded more to disciplinary problems.  Anyway....I was rediagnosed as an adult and now, with medication, and a new way of looking at things life is sweeter.  I use my hyperactivity (which has mellowed some) to my advantage and my inability to stay focused is much better with straterra (I heart Straterra).  I have great job.  In fact my doc told me he counsels several men with ADHD that are top execs in companies.  It is a good trait for thinking off the cuff, bringing new ideas...you just learn to control it and use it.  Its inspiring to me that you have enjoyed your stay here.  i came for the same reasons.  Life changes and sometimes its painful but so was childbirth and love the results of that!  I wish you all the best.

    • Thank you. That is true and funny - Childbirth is painful but worth it. I am on Vyvance and it works but I also have been taking Zoloft because my ADHD comes with depression. But your right since I have been on my medication this part of my life is under control. Now I am going to start taking care of the rest of the things in my life.

    • MZtracey,

I love your quote “When the world say, "Give up." Hope whispers, "Try it one more time!"
I needed to read this today. I hope you don’t mind but I used this on my Facebook page.

      Thanks
