Many are upset about fashion model, it girl, “plus size” advocate Crystal Renn's weight loss. They feel betrayed by the woman who has broken barriers in the fashion world, and helped women feel good about their "plus size" (read, above size 8) bodies.

Others say, we love her for who she is.

I’m interested in natural beauty and write about it for various outlets. I was surprised at my own reaction to Crystal Renn’s weight loss. I found myself disapproving, even though her life is her life! The conflict that “stars” face between living freely on the one hand, and unasked-for obligations to people inspired by them and even saved by them—it’s an interesting theme. Remember Charles Barkley and his “I’m not a role model” interview? Do you have any thoughts about Renn’s weight loss, or the obligations celebrities do or don’t have to their fans as role models? Do you think Renn has let people down?

Anyway, you can read my full article and see “before and after” photos on “Examiner” [Link Removed] .
