Yesterday, April 25 the family went bowling.  We try and go once a month or so, but this time it was for a special occasion.  Both Jessica and Alicia were celebrating birthday, 15 and 12 respectively.

I was rushing to try and get dad ready, the dogs outside in the kennel, yada, yada, yada that I forgot to have Larry stop at the bakery so I could run in and pick up the birthday cakes!  Yikes, I am going to be on someone bad list.

We get to the Alley  and dad decides he wants to bowl. He hasn't shown much interest in anything so the fact that he wants to bowl is good.

Larry finds a light-weight ball and helps dad - The area surrounding our lane gets quiet and people notice this little old man with a hard cervical collar attempt to bowl!  What a hoot.

Dad, barely having the strength to hold the ball, let alone throw it, flings the ball out about two feet in front of himself.  I pull out my Flip recorder and film the event.  The ball goes slowly down the lane but is fairly centered.

MY DAD BOWLS A STRIKE!!!  He grabs his face in utter shock and joy as others stand and clap to his accomplishment.   The next frame he bowls a spare!!  I am ready to give up since I got two gutter balls in a row - I can’t believe I am losing to my elderly father.

What a pleasant day it was indeed.
